Australia❜s Most Famous Children❜s Cookbook Is Back & More Chocolatey Than Ever!

By: Haylie Gordon, 07 February 2020

Clear your weekend, break out the self-raising flour and measuring cups, and get ready for a baking trip down memory lane because your favourite childhood cookbook has been reimagined and is now more chocolatey than ever! The Australian Women's Weekly have teamed up with Cadbury to recreate this magical masterpiece with their own chocolatey spin and the 80s child in me can't wait to see what's between those pages.

If you grew up in the 80s and had a thing for funky birthday cakes, it's likely you spent many a happy afternoon drooling over the pages of the iconic Australian Women's Weekly Children's Birthday Cake Book in preparation for showing off the amazing cake creations at your next birthday party. For me personally, it was all about the Barbie cake (aka 'Dolly Varden'), the jelly swimming pool cake, and that epic castle one with the ice cream cone towers. Lucky for me, my amazing Mum made all these cakes from scratch and the requisite jealousy from all my friends was palpable at every birthday party, thank you, Mum.

The team at Cadbury have gone a little off script with the new-look cookbook and have included some very non-80s creations like unicorn cupcakes and Freddos in a pond. Luckily the choo-choo train is still a favourite.

The new Cadbury Children's Birthday Cake Book is available now and you can score it for free! Cadbury are offering the new cookbook as a promotional gift with purchase type deal when you buy 3 or more of their baking products at Coles between 12 February and 10 March 2020. But hurry, we can guarantee these books will fly off the shelves!
