Best Kids Theatre Shows For Winter In Sydney

When the temperature starts to drop and the weather is more scarfs and jackets than swimmers and sandals, it is the perfect time to pursue some indoor activities with the kids. Before you break out the arts and crafts, why not consider an activity that won't have you cleaning poster paint off your kitchen cabinets for the whole weekend? Musicals, pantos and theatre performances are a great way to spend an afternoon or evening as a family (and the perfect alternative if you are trying to limit everyone's screen time), so we have rounded up some of the best family-friendly shows in Sydney for you to enjoy this winter.

Disney on Ice

With tickets from just $25, Disney on Ice is definitely a show to add to your bucket list. Featuring all the Disney favourites including Mickey Mouse, the Disney Princesses, and characters from Finding Nemo, Moana, Frozen, Toy Story and more. Enjoy music, amazing skating and an outstanding performance in this world-famous touring show.

Jack and the Beanstalk

Pantomimes are the ultimate family show, packed full of comedy, music and audience participation. The classic Jack and the Beanstalk story is always a crowd pleaser and this show, featuring a celeb cast including Richard Reid, Lucy Durack, Peter Rowsthorn & Jimmy "Giggle" Rees, is sure to be no different. The Twits

This July see a brand new adaption of The Twits live on stage. It is Roald Dahl in his purest form – unsentimental, grotesque and a lot of fun. Expect a super high energy combination of storytelling, puppetry and physical theatre when Mr and Mrs Twit, the most horrible people ever grace the stage. Suitable for kids aged 4+. Robot Song

Tickets for this family-friendly show start from just $23 and kids under two go free. If you live north of the city, you won’t want to miss this musical comedy which follows the story of Juniper, a young girl who discovers a singing robot. On at the Glen Street Theatre in Belrose, with shows over two days during the July school holidays.

Mimi's Symphony

Puppeteria's Puppet Shows

Puppeteria have a few different shows running this winter. June sees the master puppeteers performing The Magic Toyroom, and July’s show is Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Children from $12 and adults from $15.

Revolting Rhymes
