Major Changes for Creative Kids Vouchers in 2022

No, say it isn't so! One of NSW's favourite (and most used!) voucher programs is sadly coming to an end!

From 1 January 2022, you will no longer be able to use your Creative Kids Voucher for art kits, creative programs, pre-recorded video lessons and online programs not offered in real-time!

The New Creative Kids Voucher Program

Like so many disappointments in 2021, we can thank COVID for the changes coming to the Creative Kids program. Since we're no longer bound by the fours walls of our home, and in a bid to refocus on real-time activities for NSW kids, the NSW Government has decided to scrap all non-physical elements of the voucher program. In simple terms, any programs previously offered that are not offered in real-time will no longer be eligible and you won't receive a discount for.

What Changes are Being Made

According to Service NSW, from 1 January 2022, parents and guardians of school-aged children in NSW will not be able to use their Creative Kids vouchers for the following program delivery formats:

• Art and craft kit programs (any programs that involve the participant receiving creative supplies or materials)
• Online programs that are not delivered in real-time (live), for example, pre-recorded video lessons/tutorials. 

With the lifting of restrictions has come the lifting of the pre-recorded learning part of the Creative Kids program, which means that from 1 January 2022 you can still put your Creative Kids voucher to good use but it has to be for a real-time class or interactive activity. There are over 4,000 Creative Kids providers making use of the real-time program.
