Because life happens and chocolate helps. Yep, we’re big fans of chocolate here at ellaslist and we’re guessing you are too, I mean, who doesn’t love chocolate? The melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness can cure a bad day, a bad fight, a bad toddler, hey it can even fill your body with helpful antioxidants when eaten in dark form.

Lucky for us Aussies, Australia is sprinkled with plenty of homegrown chocolatiers and chocolate factories just waiting to delight your sweet tooth. Here are 8 of our favourite chocolate factories to check out on the east coast.

NEW SOUTH WALES

1. Junee Licorice & Chocolate Factory

Sold under the brand Green Grove Organics, the historic Junee chocolate factory is open 7 days a week. Due to COVID-19, the Junee Licorice & Chocolate Factory are no longer running chocolate tours.

2. Blue Mountains Chocolate Company

From chocolates to jams, jellies, cakes, sauces, and even pickles, everything is homemade and utterly delicious at the Blue Mountains Chocolate Company. Located near world-famous Echo Point, the Blue Mountains Chocolate Company is open 7 days a week serving delicious hot chocolates and chocolaty treats in their cafe. You can take home a chocolate souvenir from their shop, which sells handmade Turkish delight, truffles, chocolate body paint, and over 20 different flavoured chocolate bars.

3. Hunter Valley Chocolate Company

Another iconic chocolate factory in NSW, the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company have been serving the finest Belgium couverture chocolate for over 20 years. The experienced chocolatiers at the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company use distilled pure fruit oil to infuse their chocolates, resulting in a very satisfying, full-bodied flavour. Dark chocolate, white chocolate, sugar-free chocolate, fudge, and even chilli chocolate is on the menu at the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company.
