Sydney's Best Winter Markets

By: Haylie Gordon, 04 June 2019

Heading outdoors when the temperatures start to plummet sounds like a strange concept, but Sydney’s winter markets are too fabulous to miss! Whether you’re a fan of a good old Christmas in July celebration, if weekly fresh produce calls your name, or if your winter isn’t complete without seeing a magical wintery wonderland, Sydney has just the right winter market this year to blow your woollen socks off.

Here’s our pick of the best winter markets in Sydney the whole family will enjoy.

Winter Wonderland Wholefood Night Markets

The Grounds of Alexandria never ceases to amaze our eyes and our taste buds, and this winter they’ve teamed up with healthy food delivery service, GoodnessMeBox to deliver another winter market that’s geared up to be even better than last years. The Winter Wonderland Wholefood Night Market in June promises to be more than just a mouthful to say! For one night only, the Grounds will host an extravaganza of fresh food, organic mulled wines, garden-fresh produce, and even alcohol-free gin! Bring the kids along to enjoy the amazing snow-covered arena and vegan s’mores, while parents can treat their tastebuds with a mug from the colourful superfood latte fountain. Tickets are now on sale but they’re sure to sell out fast!

Chinatown Night Markets

An institution on the Sydney winter line-up, the Chinatown Night Market is the place to be on a Friday night from 17 May to 3 April 2020. One of Sydney’s favourite multicultural community markets dazzles Sydneysiders every year with a smorgasbord of colours, Asian cuisines and an energetic atmosphere that could be nabbed right out of Shanghai. Bring the kids along to the main strip of Chinatown along Dixon Street and wander through the many buzzing stalls while you sample some of the yummiest Asian flavours you’ve ever had.

All things French and Christmas will be splashed about Argyle Street with wooden chalets, Christmas lights, French mulled wine, and delicious imported produce. There will be a pop-up ice-skating rink for the kids and a Christmas-themed pop-up bar with creative cocktails for the adults. The winters markets will be open from 10 am to 11 pm every night except Sunday when the event will wrap up at 9 pm.
