Things To Do In Sydney With Kids: Top 10 Attractions

Sydney is a veritable wonderland of things to do with kids, complete with an epic array of attractions. From gorgeous outdoor spaces and wildlife parks to beautiful beaches and the city's best museums, we've rounded up the best things to do in Sydney with kids.

1. Entertainment Park Sydney

When it comes to indoor kid's activities, it doesn't get much better than Entertainment Park Sydney. Bursting with fun things to do, Entertainment Park will keep the kids entertained for hours on end with go-kart racing, bowling, racing car simulators, traditional old-style arcade games, a pool table and a VR arena.

2. Western Sydney Parklands

When we say Western Sydney Parklands has it all, we mean, it has it all! Amongst the 5,280 hectares of parklands, you will find beautiful native bushland, award-winning playgrounds and world-class sporting venues, as well as a water park, treetop walks, a farm, motorsports, a drive-in cinema and the small matter of a zoo—yes!—a zoo! 

For a real breath of fresh air, Western Sydney Parklands also boasts over 60km of tracks and trails, perfect for walking, running and cycling, with spectacular bushland scenery and views to Sydney’s CBD. Ultimately, it's the perfect Sydney day out with kids! 

3. Escape Rooms in Sydney

Escape Rooms are a great thing to do for some family bonding time, as they're a super fun, adventurous way to try something new and work on skills like teamwork and communication. Perfect for slightly older kids, teens and adults, who doesn’t love being locked in a room and forced to solve their way out of it?!

4. Auburn Botanic Gardens

A veritable urban oasis, a trip to Auburn Botanic Gardens is the perfect outdoor adventure for families.

Auburn Botanic Gardens is made up of 9 different parks, a Japanese Garden, aviary, fauna reserve, Pool of Reflection, Rose Garden, kids' playground, Rainforest Garden plus loads more natural beauty. Kids will love the bounty of local wildlife that's on offer here, plus the gorgeous cherry blossoms which adorn the Japanese Garden every year during August and September! 

5. Sydney Museums

The city's diverse array of museums provide plenty of things to do in Sydney with kids. Our favourites include Sydney Living Museum's Hyde Park Barracks—where kids can embark on an adventure through time and discover what life was like for the many people who stayed here with an audio guide and activity trail. The Australian Museum is always a front-runner for us, thanks to its incredible exhibitions and interactive Prehistoric Playground. We also love the Powerhouse Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art and the Australian National Maritime Museum for epic things to do with kids! 

6. Sydney Beaches

Sydney beaches are one of the biggest attractions for families, and a great way to spend the day with rambunctious kids! The two big-ticket destinations are SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo—both of which offer amazing experiences for young ones that you just wouldn't expect from such a busy part of the city. The playground at Darling Quarter is a veritable mecca for kids, and the water fountains are a huge hit in summer!

8. Raging Waters

Raging Waters (formerly Wet'n'Wild Sydney) is Sydney's biggest and best water theme park, boasting over 40 slides and attractions, state-of-the-art guest experiences and world-class facilities! It's perfect for big and little kids alike, with something for everyone - including chilled-out areas and full-throttle adrenalin-pumping fun!

9. Sydney Zoos & Animal Parks

For animal lovers, Sydney has tonnes to offer in the way of attractions. The all-new Sydney Zoo at the aforementioned Western Sydney Parklands is a great spot to see some of the big-ticket animals, while Taronga is an idyllic spot to get up-close and personal with some incredible creatures. We also love Symbio Wildlife Park and Featherdale Wildlife Park for some serious Aussie animal fun, as well as Calmsley Hill Farm for an ultra family-friendly farm experience! The Australian Reptile Park also offers a unique experience for children.

10. Sydney Opera House
