1. Sydney Olympic Park Archery Centre

Sydney Olympic Park will host a bumper schedule of incredibly cool programs to warm up the winter holidays, starting with three exciting clinics at Sydney Olympic Park Archery Centre. Your brave warrior can become a Young Archer or Sharp Shooter for the day, or venture into an outdoor battlefield for a Laser Tag adventure.

The Young Archers and Sharp Shooters school holiday sessions are supervised by experienced instructors who will teach young marksmen the safety and skills they need to hit the bullseye. Plus, the immersive Laser Tag program is a thrilling, adrenalin-pumping battle experience with weapons, props and sound effects, where kids will plot a strategy with their teammates to defeat their rivals.

3. Open Academy at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music

The Sydney Conservatorium of Music runs a series of Open Academy workshops every school holiday in their historic Macquarie Street buildings. Designed to enable little music lovers to dive deep into the rewarding world of music, the Kids at the Con program offers structured classes for children between the ages of 3 and 10 to explore the development of artistic expression and creative music-making in small group activities. 

Based on the Orff-Schulwerk approach, and the Dalcroze and Kodaly methods, children will be immersed in a broad range of musical activities including singing, imitation, movement, playing percussion instruments, improvisation, story-telling and guided listening. The school holiday program is a great opportunity to experience what the weekly term-time programs are like!

The Quaycentre at Sydney Olympic Park will be a hive of activity with a range of action-packed sports programs for budding athletes. Keep their minds active and their bodies warm at the iconic sporting hub with some of Sydney’s best coaches and professional athletes. Soccer fans can develop their football skills in dynamic technical sessions plus all participants receive a Wanderers training jersey. NBL champion and former professional basketballer Bruce Bolden and the My Hoops teams will lead the basketball camp and every child will receive a FREE basketball. Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park is home to three tailored Zookeeper For A Day programs for the winter school holidays, making every little animal lover's dream come true. The popular, hands-on program has dedicated sessions designed for kids aged 8-13 with special needs and their carers, plus a Team TEEN Zookeeper for a Day, ideal for older students aged 12-16.

The Zookeeper for a Day school holiday program gives young animal lovers  VIP access to explore the park, enter animal enclosures and experience extraordinary up-close encounters in a relaxed, natural environment. Budding zookeepers will learn about the specific needs of animals, find out about the parks’ enrichment programs and projects and make friends with a variety of wildlife. The Diving Clinic will introduce aqua enthusiasts to basic safety skills, plus acrobatics, stretching and the world-class 3-metre diving tower. The Water Polo Clinic will guide them through the fundamentals of the game including ball handling, throwing and catching and defending and jumping.
