Whether you prefer to glide on a set of four-wheel classic roller skates or keep it streamline with roller blades, you might be on the hunt for some new territories to test your skills.

If you’ve got a little one who is trying out a new hobby or you’re looking for a fun new form of exercise, here are the top locations to go roller skating in Sydney.

Adults and kids can drop by the Tempe roller skating rink for beginners, intermediate or advanced classes. Every second Friday night, you can get involved with the adults' open social skate session, and every Sunday afternoon, kids can enjoy their very own open skate session.

It’s hard to think of a more picturesque location for roller skating in Sydney than Bondi Skate Park.

Inline bladers can try their hand at dropping into the bowl, or skaters can head down to the nearby beach promenade to chew some concrete while the waves roll in.

5. Sydney Park

Erskinville’s Sydney Park is home to a brand-spanking new skate park, which opened in December 2020.

This impressive skate complex was built to the tune of $6-million-dollars, so rest assured there are flow bowls, rails, ledges, paths and banks for skaters of all levels to explore and enjoy.

6. Parramatta Skate Park

In Harris Park, you’ll find the Parramatta Skate Park, which is a skater's haven to test tricks and skills.

Set your wheels alight on the halfpipe, funbox, grind rail, or for the truly adventurous, you can get stuck into the looming nine-foot bowl.

For those wanting to stay on steadier ground, there are plenty of winding paths to traverse within the park grounds.

7. Julia Reserve Youth Precinct in Oran Park

The newest skate park in Sydney and one of the biggest skate parks, at that, can be found at the Julia Reserve Youth Precinct in Oran Park.

The largest skate park in South West Sydney caters to beginners right up to elite skaters.

8. Centennial Park

With a four-kilometre (mostly) flat loop around Grand Drive, you couldn’t find a better place in Sydney to roller skate and blade than Centennial Park.

Not only will you be able to work up a sweat with some speed work, but also be positively spoiled with a feast for the eyes as the iconic scenery of the park opens up around you while you whizz on by.
