It's the most wonderful time of the year when you see your kids' faces light up at the best Christmas lights in Sydney 2023!

Visiting all the best houses with Christmas lights in Sydney is a magical (and affordable!) way of getting the whole family in the festive spirit this year. These Sydney streets are some of the best to make a beeline for; renowned for their epic (and we mean, epic) displays of Christmas lights in Sydney. Merry Christmas!

Eastern Suburbs

Bondi and North Bondi

This gorgeous Bondi display looks the part and is raising money for a great cause!


5 Waratah Street: The lights usually go on each night from 7.30 pm and boast music, moving features, inflatables, and more. This gorgeous house is known for raising money for CareFlight, so don't forget to ask about donations. Please be advised that if there is heavy rain or storms, the lights may not be on. 

Avoca Street: Bondi's most popular street with Chrissie lights time and time again, Avoca Street is set to sparkle again with loads of Christmas lights in Sydney 2023!

Maroubra 

Add Maroubra to your list and stop off at 22 Hargraves Place for loads of lights.

Matraville

46 Knowles Avenue have joined in the festivities this year and will be flicking their lights on from 1-31 December 2023.  

Greater West

St Clair

Benaud Street: This beautiful family have been putting up incredible Christmas lights in Sydney for years, and this year they won't be holding back with their twinkly lights display to honour a wonderful lady named Mona who sadly passed away from cancer. 

64 Chatsworth Road: A gorgeous display that will get everyone in the festive spirit!

A little birdy told us that some folks on Nalong Street are also turning up the festivities this year. 

Winston Hills

Caledonian Avenue: Often decked to the halls, this display is not to be missed on any tour de Christmas lights in Sydney!

For another well-lit house in Winston Hills, head to 14a Bundilla Avenue.

Guildford

Vulcan Street: This small cul-de-sac street really gets in the festive spirit.

8 O'Neill Street: Lights are usually on from 8.30 pm until 11.30 pm every night from around 1 December until the beginning of January. The 7 Minute Music-Synchronised Show occurs every hour, on the hour, 9, 10, and 11 pm.

Blaxland

For Christmas lights in the Blue Mountains, Robertswood Ave is famous at this time of the year! Stop by and check out hundreds of trees, lights, trains, candy canes, and figurines, plus, the Mt Riverview Rural Fire Brigade sometimes makes an appearance - so festive!

Jordan Springs

Emu Plains

Head on over to Emerald Street in Emu Plains for magical Christmas lights in Sydney 2023. 

Glenmore Park

3 and 4 Troon Court: You'll find a fantastic display with many lights, inflatables, and lasers.

60 Kiber Drive: This epic display features projections and lasers, inflatables, a decorated roof, and plenty more.

Tench Reserve have over 40,000 lights up this year as well as inflatables, lasers, roof displays, and more!

Schofields

Quakers Hill

The display at 11 Chaplin Crescent won third place in the 2023 Blacktown City Christmas Lights Competition so you'd better add them to your list!

Errol Place: This Cul de Sac boasts numerous houses that are bursting with Christmas cheer!

2 Keon Place: This huge display boasts 5000 lights synchronised to music, motifs, fairy lights, rope lights, and inflatables, plus Santa stuck in the chimney, kicking his legs!

7 Mallee Street: Are rumoured to be popping up the lights again for 2023 and will be decked out in splendour!

Riverstone

The lights over at 4/79 Piccadilly Street were awarded the Best Townhouse Display for 2023!

The Ponds

There'll be plenty to look at at 24 Ridgeline Drive with fairy lights, inflatables, laser lights, and Christmas garden features lighting up from 7.30 pm most nights. 

Marayong

15 Sofa Street will be decked out with moving features, interactive displays, nativity scenes, inflatables, walk-in displays, window displays, lasers, and Christmas characters - need we say more?!

Hassall Grove

Rooty Hill

39 Alice Street is pretty spectacular - so spectacular, in fact, there's a whole Facebook page dedicated to the famous Le Roux Christmas Lights! They're also raising money for the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation's Light Up Christmas Appeal. 

Minchinbury

9 Fleurs Street is another winner in the 2023 Blacktown City Lights Competition!

Erskine Park

15 Pegasus Street: Plenty of flashing lights bring a whole lot of Christmas cheer!

Merrylands

2 Earl Street: If the kids are pestering you to see some festive snow this year, head on over to 2 Earl Street, where lights and real snow are falling!

Oatlands

For festive lights in Oatlands, drive past 42 Strathalbyn Drive and 30 Blackwood Place.

Rydalmere

Pine Street are popping up some festive lights this year.

Greystanes

Greystanes is going off this festive season, with colourful displays confirmed at 10 Eldridge Road72 Cumberland Road and 24 Kootingal Street.

Smithfield

The festive folks at 320 Brenan Street are claiming to have the best Christmas lights in the West in 2023! Come along from 8.30 pm most nights to be the judge.

Werrington

Make sure you go for a wander to 41 Armstein Crescent to see Sydney streets with Christmas lights with inflatables, lasers, projections, statues, and more! Their lights usually go on from 7.30 pm to 11 pm until 25 December.

Birrong

17 Stephenson Street: Come along and see a massive lights display and maybe even a BBQ every Saturday if previous years are anything to go by!

Moorebank

91 Hennessy Avenue: These folks know how to put on a good show and even have a Facebook page dedicated to their impressive display that is raising money for Liverpool Hospital NICU. Come along and see lights synced to music and snow on the weekends!

76-78 Nuwarra Road: A Christmas village, letters to Santa, twinkly lights, an eight-metre-high inflatable Santa, and plenty more are usually on display at this block of townhouses. 

Chipping Norton

12 & 14 Faversham Crescent: If you'd love to show your support for the children this year, visit the Chipping Norton Lights for the Children's Hospital at Westmead. Two houses will be lit up in festive flash to spread the Christmas spirit while also raising awareness and funds for a fantastic cause - donate today!

Blacktown

4 Irelands Road: Check out Santa, his reindeer, snowmen, inflatable Kombis, and plenty of twinkly lights at this festive address.

31 Kieran Drive: are going all out with Christmas lights in Sydney as well as festive treats for the kiddies.

While you're in the area, add 9 Lancaster Street to your list!

14 Indigo Way in Blacktown

For some of the most mind-blowing Christmas lights in Sydney, head to 14 Indigo Way in Blacktown. This iconic house has been on display for over 10 years and they're always raising money for fantastic causes. Their lights will be on display from 8 pm to 10 pm Sunday to Thursday and 8 pm to 11.30 pm Friday to Saturday. 

Seven Hills

39 Leabons Lane is another award-winning display for 2023!

Old Toongabbie

Check out the sparkly houses dotted along Calga Place and Nulang Street in Old Toongabbie.

Stanhope Gardens

6 Tilbury Avenue: Every night from 8 pm to midnight during December, families get to ogle at over 12,000 lights, all synchronised to music, plus snow, fog, bubbles, firework effects and more!

Pitt Town

4 Farmhouse Avenue will be adding to the festivities with their Chrissie display from around 7 pm to 10 pm most evenings. They are also raising money for the Lights for Kids Foundation - donate if you can!

North Richmond

9 Monti Place are going all out for Sydney folks, so make sure you add this house to your list!

While you're in the area, stop by 7 Mokari Street for more twinkly lights.

The folks at 19 Flannery Avenue have even jumped up on their roof to hang their Christmas lights for 2023! Stop by from 7.30 to 11 pm.

Hobartville

In nearby Hobartville, the festivities will be on display at 14 Hughes Avenue.

Inner West

18 Bishop Street: If you're keen to see some snow this Christmas, head to Bishop Street for lights, snow, and more!

Tempe

7 South Street: These guys didn't hold back with their massive 2022 lights display, so make sure you add them to your list of Christmas lights in Sydney 2023!

Belfield

A little birdy told us that Saxon Street in Belfield must be added to your list if you're hunting for lights in the West!

Ashbury

Second Street: If you want a whole-street extravaganza, this one is for you!

Sydenham

8 Frederick Street will be on display this year.

North West Sydney

Westleigh

10 Tomah Place: Often described as a gingerbread house, this display is said to be seen from outer space!

Kellyville

44 Mawarra Crescent: This house usually has a gorgeous themed display featuring inflatable decorations and often raises money for the Leukemia Foundation.

17 Womboyne Avenue: A festive stop-off on any Christmas lights in Sydney tour!

Castle Hill

136 Excelsior Avenue: A gorgeous display of over 25,000 lights!

Get ready for lasers, projections, a nativity scene, and more at 34 Saint Pauls Avenue.

14 Murrumba Place: Usually join in the spirit with massive Christmas lights in Sydney.

North Ryde

Chauvel Street: The whole gang usually gets into the Christmas spirit on this gorgeous street, but displays are currently unconfirmed for 2023.

Gladesville

The families at 18 Cowell Street and 12 Westminster Road have been hard at work stringing up lights for the festive season.

Hunters Hill

Hunters Hill residents are in for a real treat, as the family at 55 Milling Street are going all out with their house display this year!

Putney

Gregory Street: Has awesome displays throughout the festive period, and Mr Whippy even makes an appearance on most nights!

Northmead

45 Grassmere Ave: In previous years, over one million lights have dazzled at 45 Grassmere Avenue throughout December, so we're holding our fingers for another banger display this year!

Sydney resident, Andy Catajar, has been creating an incredible Christmas lights display on his house in Northmead for 25 years. Andy also collects donations for the Kids with Cancer Foundation during the festive season - what a legend!

While you're in the area, head on over to 14 Martha Avenue for more festive lights.

Carlingford

12 Watton Road: Usually have their lights turned on to get everyone in the festive spirit!

North Shore

Hornsby Heights

Sydney Road: With more than 50 houses getting in the spirit from 8 pm—a visit to Sydney Street is a must!

Lane Cove

53 Garling Street: This bright, colourful display promises lots of twinkly Christmas cheer! 

22 Sutherland Street are also joining in with flashing lights, inflatable reindeers, a fully decorated roof and more. 

Willoughby

First, Second, Third and Fourth Avenues in Willoughby usually go all out with their festive fun. 

Asquith

28 Lockwood Street: Synchronised lights to music with five-metre mega trees are usually the order of the day here!

Lindfield

22 Bradfield Road: This house is worth a visit: great lights and fantastic music to go with it.

While you're in the area, stop off and see the lights dazzling at 22 Adelaide Avenue

East Lindfield

In nearby East Lindfield, you won't want to miss the extravagant display at 86 Chelmsford Avenue!

Thornleigh

Beresford Road: If the lights alone weren't enough to tempt you, a sausage sizzle van on this gorgeous street in Thornleigh just might!

51 Oakleigh Avenue is another one to add to your list.

Berowra

25A Richards Close is coming alive this year with its Christmas lights in Sydney, all synced to music! Berowra Waters Road is also a hit at this time of the year.

Northern Beaches

Beacon Hill

12 Egan Place: This house usually has decorations on throughout December. 

1 Biralee Crescent

Beacon Avenue: We love the lights along Beacon Avenue, particularly at numbers 5, 9, 11,14, and 16.

Cromer

Meehan Road: Numbers 18 and 20 along Meehan Road are also must-visits.

Carawa Place: Make your way to Carawa Place for a lights display pitstop.

Little Willandra Road: While you're in Cromer, add numbers 41a and 60 to your list!

11 Ryrie Avenue is another one of the best houses with Christmas lights in Sydney.

32 Badcoe Road will be flicking the switch on their dazzling display from 8 pm to 11 pm. 

Belrose

36 Childs Cct: A little birdy told us that number 36 is going all out this year with lights synced to music, signing light bulbs, a mega tree with over 4,000 lights on it, and more! The lovely residents will also be collecting donations for charity. Start time is 7:45 pm to 10 pm Sunday to Thursday and Friday, Saturday to 10:30 pm.

Davidson

Davidson gets absolutely lit around Christmastime and is one of the best spots to see incredible Christmas lights in Sydney.
Start at Borgnis Street in Davidson and get ready for twinkly action, followed by Kambora Avenue. Plus, the local fire station is rumoured to be putting on a show again this year!

Ingleside

This epic Ingleside light display is a must-visit on any lights tour of the Northern Beaches!


2 Ingleside Road: One of the biggest displays on the Nothern Beaches (including a walk-through light tunnel!) is at 2 Ingleside Road.

Elanora Heights

The good folk in Elanora Heights love a celebration, and houses are dotted with sparkly lights throughout Elanora Heights at Kalang Rd, Anana, Merridong Rd, Iluka Ave, Allington Cres, Woorarra Ave, and St Andrews Gate.

One house in particular at 116 Elanora Road has something big planned for 2023!

Narrabeen

In nearby Narrabeen, head to Malcolm Street for festive lights. 

Warriewood

For festive lights throughout Warriewood, 3 Bella Vista Court and 168 Warriewood Road are two to earmark.

Seaforth

Drive past 4 Baranbali Avenue and 29 Grandview Grove to get in the festive spirit on the Northern Beaches.

Mosman

Prince Albert Street: For a real wow factor, head to Prince Albert Street. This spot continually gets voted some of the best Christmas lights in Sydney!

2 Magic Grove are getting into the 2023 spirit with loads of lights, inflatables, music and more!

South Sydney/St George

A Harry Potter Christmas House Opens in Sydney

Ramsgate Beach is home to Sydney's own Harry Potter Christmas House! 

Warner Bros. Discovery Australia is inviting witches, wizards and Muggles alike to be part of the magic this festive season as a regular suburban house has been transformed into Hogwarts at 30 Alfred Street, Ramsgate Beach for Potter fans to enjoy from 13 December until Boxing Day.

Along with loads of Christmas lights, iconic Harry Potter items will be on display, including floating candles from the Great Hall, Patronus animals, glowing golden snitches, Christmas trees adorned in Hogwarts house colours, Thestrals pulling a carriage, five Dobby statues hidden for fans to find, a huge Whomping Willow tree, and plenty more.

13 Dunmore Street: Come along and see the fabulous Bexley Christmas lights at 13 Dunmore Street. We love this display because they cover almost the entire house and raise valuable funds for The Sydney Children's Hospital - love!

Narwee

5 Ventura Avenue: This epic display boasts plenty of characters that young ones will recognise, thousands of lights and plenty more. 

Carlton

Jubilee Avenue: This display had a Santa with Kangaroos and other awesome light displays in previous years, so fingers crossed they get in the spirit this year!

South Hurstville

29 Grosvenor Road: As well as offering a great display, this house is known for raising money for the kids at Starlight. They've also hosted weekend movie nights for families from 7 pm to 10 pm in previous years.

Mortdale

If you can only make it to one street with Christmas lights in Sydney in 2023, Kemp Street in Mortdale will have a number of houses glittered with magical lights.

Peakhurst Heights

A little birdy told us that Rainbow Parade is a must-visit on your list!

Connells Point

47 Homedale Crescent (aka Magic at the Crescent) are back for the third year running with their 2023 display, and once again, they will be participating in fundraising for Lights For Kids with the Sydney Children's Hospital. 

Sutherland Shire

Engadine

Nolan Avenue: These houses are usually covered from top to bottom, so cruise on by from 8 pm to 10 pm and see something spectacular! The houses along Nolan Avenue will be on display all the way up until 8 January!

Miranda

59 Kareena Road: This gorgeous display features roof and wall trees covered in lights. A five-metre Santa and five-metre reindeer usually also make an appearance, with Christmas carols playing in the background. How festive!

Kirrawee

Forest Road: Fun and festivities for all await at this gorgeous street.

Bilga Street: Another Kirrawee gem where the whole street gets involved in putting on a show for locals and visitors alike.

Orana Avenue: While you're in the area, Orana Avenue is another must-visit. 

6 Hotham Road: There are usually six townhouses in a row all lit up for Sydney families on this street!

Barden Ridge

Mosman Place: Festive cheer abounds in this little spot—twinkly lights, characters, inflatables, and more!

South West Sydney

Mount Annan

13 Caley Way: This whole house lit up will light up the faces of everyone who sees it!

8 Lochview Crescent: With plenty of lights and synchronised Christmas music, this display is full of festive fun. 

Swansona Ave: For award-winning Christmas lights in Sydney, Swansona Avenue is one of the best streets!

The Rapids: We have it good authority that the whole street of The Rapids is lit up in spectacular fashion this year! We also hear that number 9 oftens wins best novelty Christmas lights.

Padstow

81 Chamberlain Road is a must-see year after year! Along with putting up spectacular lights, they also usually raise money for brain cancer. 

79 Virginius Street usually put on an epic lights display right up until New Year's Eve!

Padstow Heights

6 Carter Crescent: This full light display usually offers plenty to look at, including front window display, reindeer, blowups, Santa and elf cut-outs, and many trains! 

Bankstown

Head on over to 28 Hixson Street from around 8 pm to see interactive displays, nativity scenes, snow machines, window displays, statues and more all in support of the Lights for Kids Foundation.

Gledswood Hill

For award-winning Christmas lights, head to Walseley Crescent for something truly spectacular. Walseley Crescent has won the Camden Council's best Christmas lights for a street for two years running and is set to be even bigger and better this year. We can't wait!

Oran Park

South Circuit: This must-visit street usually has eight houses aglow with Christmas light displays.

11 Debenham Street: This house usually raises much-needed funds for the Sydney Children's Hospital and Westmead Children's Hospital. Well worth a visit!

Punchbowl

7 Carisbrook Avenue: This house will really wow your socks off. The whole house is usually covered in twinkly lights and complete with a festive showstopper: a seven-metre Christmas tree made entirely of lights! 

Roselands

Ok, this house is epic! 60 Payten Avenue usually puts on a mega three-storey display from 6 pm to 11 pm until the beginning of January. Not to be missed!

Also in Roselands, head to the Roselands Display at 124 Karne Street North to see over 150,000 lights for the Lights For Kids Foundation.

Belmore

34 Hugh Street, Belmore is nicknamed The Gingerbread House, so you know they're going all out with a huge display!

Milperra

Check out 15 Whittle Avenue for a gorgeous display in Milperra.
