Sydney's newest luxury hotel doesn't have views of the sparkling harbour.... nope, it's situated in the south-west suburb of Warwick Farm, around 30 kilometres from Sydney's cbd. But you know what? It's just far enough for quick romantic getaway (or babymoon if you're celebrating your last months of kid-friendly freedom!) but not too far if you need to leave the other kids with grandma and grandpa....

The new William Inglis Hotel MGallery by Sofitel opened in January and is a huge, 8-level equine-themed luxe hotel. Eh, did you say horses? That's right, it's owned by thoroughbred horse sales company William Inglis & Son and operated by multinational hotel group Accor Hotels.

What's Inside?

Celebrating racing and thoroughbred history, each of the 144 guest rooms has a unique theme and is named after one of the many champion racehorses sold through the sales rings. The biggest, on Level 8, is the Presidential Suite – named the Black Caviar Suite. Each guest room will be personalised to the champion racehorse it is named after, featuring an artistic painting of the winning jockey silks, and an image or original artwork of the horse.

Check Out The Rooftop Pool!

Naturally, the amazing rooftop bar and 20-metre heated pool is the true star of this hotel (sorry Black Caviar!). The Chiltern Pool Deck & Bar is the only pool in the world where you can relax on cabanas and sun loungers while overlooking 300 acres of greenery and watch the races from above.

There's also a whiskey bar on the mezzanine level to keep partners happy. And book lovers will delight in the two-storey bookcase that runs from the hotel lobby into the restaurant and along the mezzanine level into the 1867 Lounge. The bookcase has a collection of artefacts, artworks and books from the past 150 years of Inglis’ operation and of the thoroughbred industry in Australia.

Farm Fresh Dining

As you'd expect, the hotel's main restaurant, the Newmarket Room, has a sophisticated country style, paddock-to-plate menu concept headed up by chef Samuel Bull. There's also an alfresco dining area, the Newmarket Gardens complete with beautiful Moreton Bay fig trees.

How Much?

The hotel have an opening offer of $199 per night in a superior king room including breakfast for 2 in Newmarket Room which sounds pretty good to us! You can book online here.
