​Whether your child is a beginner or experienced dancer, Thrive Dance Ballet & Contemporary School on the North Shore will inspire your child to come alive through dance.

We are located in Willoughby, only minutes from Chatswood on Sydney’s North Shore. With industry leading professional teachers, we specialise in all age groups offering RAD Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

Dance Classes

Little Stars Program (3-4yrs): No previous training required. Emphasis is on exploration through imaginative movement using Pre Primary / Primary RAD ballet syllabus.

For the below classes – there is the option of one or two classes per week. Two classes a week are required for students heading towards exams. All ballet classes are taught using the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus.

Junior Ballet – Tights & Tiara’s (6-8yrs): Basic ballet technique with little or no prior training required.

Intermediate Foundation & Intermediate Ballet (12-15yrs):  Basic ballet technique with increasing difficulty including pointe work. Beginners also welcome.

For the below classes – Classes are catered for beginner and advanced level students. Ballet is highly recommended to assist skills in contemporary.

​Junior Contemporary (7-10yrs):  A great introduction to movement including floor work, progressions from the corner and short dance pieces to modern music.

​Intermediate Contemporary (11-16yrs):  A progression on junior contemporary working on increasing the vocbulary of steps using fun and inspiring music for all ability levels.

​Adult Ballet Classes (all ages):  Great for ex dancers wanting to return to class as well as beginners who want to learn ballet from experienced teachers in a fun environment.

Private Lessons (all ages):  Dancers who are wanting to participate in Eisteddfods or RAD examinations.
