Egg-cellent Easter Trail

Celebrate Easter at Vaucluse House or Elizabeth Farm! Enjoy an egg-cellent range of fun activities inspired by traditional Easter games including egg rolling, egg-and-spoon racing, a chicken hunt (of the non-chocolate variety) and a hot-cross bun ingredient challenge.

Get crafty at our Easter-inspired tinkering station and meet our feathered friends at the Kindi Farm Venture through the house and explore the kitchen garden – an Easter bunny’s paradise. When you have finished your trail, you can claim your chocolate treat.

How Cities Work exhibition

Explore the city inside and out, top to bottom in a whole new way! From sewers to skyscrapers, this new exhibition at the Museum of Sydney reveals the secret workings of the city. The exhibition brings to life the Lonely Planet Kids book How Cities Work, illustrated by James Gulliver Hancock.

Pop-up Cities workshop with James Gulliver Hancock

Join illustrator James Gulliver Hancock for a fun-filled creative workshop. Kids will create their very own pop-up artwork inspired by the exhibition How Cities Work using cardboard, paper, glue and coloured pencils. James will demonstrate simple techniques that will turn seemingly ordinary materials into an imaginative artwork.

Rouse Hill House & Farm in LEGO® Bricks

Marvel at the amazing models of the iconic Rouse Hill House and farm buildings constructed from LEGO® bricks with breathtaking architectural detail and accuracy by the Southern Hemisphere’s only LEGO®-certified professional, Australia’s Ryan McNaught. Then create your own LEGO farm to add to the display.

Kids in the Kitchen

Experience the wonder of making your own food from scratch. Join us in the colonial kitchen to bake damper, learn how to churn fresh butter from cream, and make your own cool and refreshing lemonade out of fresh lemons! Explore the kitchen garden and then settle in to taste all the lovely things you’ve made.

Bush Tucker family workshop

Search for bush tucker plants with Aboriginal guides from Muru Mittigar around Rouse Hill House & Farm. Learn about traditional bush foods and make a traditional johnnycake. Then sit down to your well-earned tucker!

Playing Shop

Do you know how to wrap an egg, weigh out goods on a scale or count in pounds and shillings? With Playing Shop children become shopkeepers and get behind the counter of Susannah Place Museum’s re-created c1915 corner shop.
