Science in the Scrub at Western Sydney Parklands

For the first time ever, Western Sydney Parklands will celebrate National Science Week with a free, family science festival - Science in the Scrub - on Sunday 14th August. A family day out that’s jam-packed full of science, discovery and fun, let your curiosity guide you as Lizard Log transforms into a pop-up village of scientific delights with over 25 awe-inspiring stalls and activity stations.

Unearth your inner scientist through hands-on, family-friendly science experiments and displays, learn bush survival skills at the Bush Craft Village, meet furry, feathered and scaly friends, and explore the pop-up ocean lab by The Maritime Museum. Meet real life scientists like biologists, geologists and researchers, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for the incredible life-size roaming Australovenator dinosaur puppet, who arrives for a prehistoric tour through the scrub!

You won’t want to miss the incredible line-up of stage acts either. From bubbles, slime and a liquid nitrogen show, to buzzing ecology-pop tunes, and a must-see theatre show that brings the adventures of May Gibbs’ iconic Snugglepot and Cuddlepie to life, Science in the Scrub is guaranteed to entertain both adults and children alike.

With food trucks and plenty of picnic areas available, families will be able to settle in and make the most of the day that runs from 11am until 3pm.
