Swissotel's Winter Cheese & Chocolate Fondue

Swissôtel Sydney is back with its traditional, delectable Swiss cheese and chocolate fondue experience this winter and invites everyone to the heart of Sydney’s CBD to enjoy the perfect winter warmer.

Enjoy a hearty pot of oozing cheese goodness served alongside a selection of traditional side dishes. Also available is a chocolate alternative with the whole works for the serial dessert lovers.

Fondue is a delectable Swiss culinary experience and its history dates back to the 18th century. At Crossroads Bar in Swissôtel Sydney, the culinary team has recreated a traditional fondue recipe best enjoyed during the city’s colder months.



Swiss Cheese Fondue
The Swissôtel Sydney fondue recipe is a combination of Swiss cheeses - Emmental and Gruyère, Kirsch (a clear fruit brandy), white wine, garlic and a secret ingredient, all blended together and served in one delightful warm pot. The house-made Swiss fondue is best enjoyed with crusty baguette bread, cornichons, pickled onions and cos salad. 

Diners can personalise the flavour of their fondue dip to suit their tastes by adding Fourme d’Ambert blue cheese, Gorgonzola Dolce blue cheese, truffle or all three to make a lip-smacking cheesy dip.

To savor the warm cheese fondue, there will be an array of mouthwatering dipper options such as kipfler potatoes, spiced meatballs, slow-cooked flat iron steak (served pink), seasonal vegetables (carrot, capsicum, broccoli), grilled portobello mushrooms, pork salami, beer battered chips, potato rosti, prawn cutlets and crusty baguette bread.

- Additional sides and cheese supplements can be purchased.

Swiss Chocolate Fondue
For those with a sweet tooth, Swissôtel’s chefs have created a decadent blend of Swiss chocolate fondue accompanied by marshmallows, pound cake, strawberries, pineapples, kiwifruit, crushed peanuts and almond flakes. It will be exhilarating for both kids and adults to dip churros, waffle sticks, pretzels, mini doughnut balls, ice cream, bananas and strawberries to dip in this irresistible chocolate fondue.

- A pot of chocolate fondue
- Marshmellows, pound cakes, strawberries, pineapples, kiwifruit, crushed peanuts and almond flakes.
