The Harbour Trust: Virtual Spring Holiday Fun!

The Harbour Trust is celebrating the spring school holidays with an online arts and craft program for kids of all ages! To coincide with Biodiversity Month, they have curated a selection of fun activities that celebrate Aussie wildlife.

This includes a FREE watercolour painting tutorial for kids. Hosted by illustrator Carlie Edwards (Earthdrawn Studio), this EXCLUSIVE online class is an opportunity for kids to channel their creativity into a painting of a cockatoo.

Watercolour painting tutorial (FREE)

Join illustrator Carlie Edwards for a 60-minute watercolour painting tutorial, exclusively available online until Friday 1 October.

The tutorial is a great opportunity for budding artists, aged 8 to 16, to learn how to paint a Major Mitchell’s Cockatoo with watercolours. Carlie will guide kids through the entire process, step by step and, by the end, they'll have a vibrant cockatoo to call their own!

Register on the Sydney Harbour Trust website so you don't miss out – the tutorial is only available to view until 1 October.

Activity sheets (Download, Print & Play)

Crafty kids can tap into their creativity and learn about native plants with the Harbour Trust’s special selection nature-themed activities and games. These include a cockatoo colouring-in sheet, a native animal collage activity and a native plant memory game.

Online puzzles (20-50 pieces)

Did you know puzzles help kids to build their problem-solving skills? Plus, completing a puzzle is enormously satisfying, especially if it was tough. Let your puzzle masters loose with native animal puzzles, ranging from 20 to 50 pieces. There is a sunbathing seal, a colourful lorikeet, a kooky kookaburra and a prickly echidna.
