Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden

Wendy Whiteley’s Gardens is one of the best places in Sydney for a family picnic. It’s quirky and quiet with something around every corner to delight children and adults alike.

There is a small playground ensconced within this sprawling, charming garden, and it's truly one of Sydney’s hidden treasures. The surprisingly large garden is lush and green with tree ferns, herbs, flowers, palm and fig trees and has amazing harbour views.

Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden
Lush and green, Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden is a must-visit spot for families on the harbour.

There are picnic tables scattered throughout the garden and all kinds of quirky statues and random objects (like a rusty old wheelbarrow and an old scooter) add charm to this living work of art.

It is a great place for kids of all ages to play and dream as Wendy herself says: “Children love this garden. It sparks their imagination and they make up games and find spiders and fairies and things.” A perfect destination for the whole family!
