The Sunshine Coast is set to get a fantastic new waterpark, with Aussie World proposing a $60 million facility at Palmview. Complementing the high-energy family fun offered at the existing theme park, the new waterpark will be a huge drawcard to families visiting the area.

Aussie World Set to Expand With $60m Water Park

This thrilling concept includes fun for every age and stage and promises to position Aussie World as a premier entertainment destination in South East Queensland. And with the Gold Coast and all its many attractions right on their doorstep, that's no mean feat.

The proposal includes:

  • 16 waterslides for all ages
  • Leisure and action pools
  • Multiple waterplay areas
  • Food and beverage outlets
  • A pool bar, sun loungers, cabanas
  • A souvenir shop

Aussie World general manager Jenny Howell said “As the largest sustainable and accessible waterpark on the Sunshine Coast, and with its proximity to Aussie World, this project will be hugely popular and something that locals can be proud of."

Aussie World is getting an upgrade!

Aussie World has submitted the development application to the Sunshine Coast Council for this waterpark, which would be built on privately owned land just north of the existing theme park. If approved, this would be the largest waterpark on the Coast, set to rival other attractions in South-East Queensland.

Expected to draw in 780,000 annual visitors by 2031, this new waterpark promises to significantly boost the local economy. Get ready for some serious splash-filled fun on the Sunshine Coast!

A First Nations Experience

Separate from the Waterpark proposal, additional plans have been filed with the council by Timevale for a “First Nations experience” at the park.

This would replace four existing commercial tenancies in the retail village and additional space behind the tenancies.

According to the development application, the new facility would “provide a learning experience about the First Nations people of Australia, with a specific focus on the Sunshine Coast region”.

Watch this space, folks! Aussie World is going glowing up—set to be bigger and better than ever in the coming years!
