Cosiest Cabins To Stay In This Winter In NSW

By: Sarah Tayler, 10 May 2019

There is no denying it, summer is long gone, and winter is slowly taking its place. The cooler days and colder nights have us longing for weekends away tucked under blankets, glass of wine in hand, next to a crackling fire. If you are looking for the cosiest cabins near Sydney for a romantic weekend away with your partner this winter, look no further.

George | Kangaroo Valley

The smallest cabin on our list, the George, is perhaps the cosiest of them all. Measuring just 15 metres-square, this tiny home is set on 100 acres, has no phone reception, and is powered by gas bottles and solar power meaning you have no choice but to relax, unplug, and enjoy a weekend of off-the-grid peace and quiet. Just two hours from the city, the George is located in the Southern Highlands close to waterfalls, bush trails, swimming holes and a golf course. This cosy cabin can fit two adults and two small children, but it would be a tight squeeze!

Sierra Escape | Mudgee

Set atop the hills of Mudgee, these luxury glamping tents each have their own wood burning fire, freestanding bath (indoor and outdoor), fully-equipt kitchen, and firepit to have a campfire. Totally secluded, the tents offer privacy and amazing views over the surrounding farmland. Can’t find a babysitter for the weekend? They have two bedroom options, too!

Love Cabins | Blue Mountains

Set among the trees, this cabin allows you to go on bush walks during the day and relax in front of the fire in the evening. The cabin also comes with a separate bath house with a spa bath big enough for two. The rustic design of the building blends with the surroundings and creates the ultimate cosy cabin for a winter weekend away. Find more cosy treehouse accommodation here.

Billabong Moon | Hunter Valley

Choose from six unique cabins — each enjoying a slightly different view of the beautiful surroundings. From lakeside to treetops, the choice is yours. A weekend at Billabong Moon will have you exploring wineries by day, and building a cosy log fire by night, before taking a long soak in the tub… perfection.

Moonbah Huts | Jindabyne

If your perfect weekend away includes outdoor activities and a cosy cabin to come back to after a long day of adventuring, the Moonbah Huts in Jindabyne could be for you. From fishing to mountain biking, there is plenty to keep you occupied. Warm up and get cosy each evening with underfloor heating and wood burning fireplaces (with snow falling over Christmas in Jindabyne you will need it!). Need to take your little nippers with you on your romantic getaway? They have two bedroom cabins available too.
