Designs Revealed for the New Botany Aquatic Centre

Bayside Council have received a development application for the new Botany Aquatic Centre, which is set to revitalise this iconic spot with some seriously cool upgrades. The existing facility, nestled at the corner of Myrtle St and Jasmine St in Botany, has served Sydney well with its 50-metre pool, grandstand and smaller pools for the kiddos, but let's be real—it's showing its age and it's time for something fresh.

The new aquatic complex is about to make our southern suburbs the place to be for all things swim, splash, and play.

What's in Store at the New Botany Aquatic Centre

Enter the new era: The plan includes tearing down the old digs and bringing to life a state-of-the-art aquatic centre with a price tag of $68.4 million. What's on the menu? A shiny new 50-metre outdoor lap pool, a cosy 25-metre indoor pool, and an indoor learn-to-swim pool designed for our future champs.
 

And because we all love a bit of thrill, get pumped for two adventure water slides and a splash-tastic outdoor play area! Plus, there's more than just swimming on the agenda—think a modern gym, sunshades for those scorching Sydney days, updated change rooms, and a kiosk for your post-swim snack fix.

But that's not all—this aquatic paradise will also feature sleek meeting rooms, a welcoming foyer, reception, and multi-function rooms for all your community shindigs. 

Botany Aquatic Centre Opening Date

The redevelopment proposal has been lodged with NSW Planning and according to Bayside Council, they are "committed to redeveloping the much loved Botany Aquatic Centre (BAC) which is due to progress in winter 2025".
