Tim Burton's beloved 80s flick, Beetlejuice is causing quite a stir among movie fans of late. First, the release of a revamped Beetlejuice 2 is set to hit the silver screen in September 2024 and now, Beetlejuice the Musical is making its Australian debut in 2025!

Coming straight from the Broadway stage, where it's been in residence since 2019 and received a whopping eight Tony Awards, Beetlejuice the Musical was written by Australia's own Eddie Perfect, who's excited to be bringing the kooky characters to Australian audiences. 

According to Perfect, "While Beetlejuice began on stage in America, this show has a macabre sensibility and twisted humour that Australians will delight in." 

"I always hoped it would have a life here at some point and I am thrilled that moment has finally arrived", he adds. 

Perfect's rendition of Beetlejuice stays true to Burton's original, with the addition of spooky songs and dancing as we follow the macabre tale of Barbara and Adam Maitland. After discovering they're dead, the ghostly couple is determined to do whatever it takes to reclaim their house from the new human owners, the Deetz family, even if this means joining forces with the miscreant 'bio-exorcist' known as Beetlejuice.

The spooktacular musical will start haunting audiences in April 2025.
