On Saturday 1 June, join the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for an epic adventure as they bring the beautiful picture book The Peasant Prince to life with a musical journey of hope, freedom and family love!

This enchanting performance, based on the captivating, best-selling memoir "Mao’s Last Dancer," follows Li Cunxin's spellbinding tale of coming from humble beginnings to become one of the world’s greatest ballet dancers.

Narrated with vibrant storytelling and soaring music that will captivate young audiences, MSO Composer in Residence, Katy Abbott, will guide you through the magical themes of the story as the orchestra illuminates every twist and turn.
