School holiday fun at the State Library

This Winter school holidays, come and have some fun at the State Library.

Spend an hour or an entire day in Australia’s oldest Library and enjoy a range of fabulous creative activities, from 8 to 19 July.

Enjoy artmaking and fashion design classes, free kids tours, a workshop with multi-talented children’s author/illustrator Mick Elliott and pop up performances by Bell Shakespeare.

The Library’s popular free drop-in activity space will run from Monday 8 to 12 Friday July, 10am to 3pm.

Drop—in activities: draw, make and showcase your unique fashion creations
Monday 8 to Friday 12 July, 10 am – 3 pm, $5

Free kids’ tours: explore the historic Mitchell Library and discover its amazing stories.
Monday 8 to Friday 19 July (weekdays only), 11 am – 12 noon

Creative workshop: with multi-talented children’s author/illustrator Mick Elliott (Squidge Dibley Destroys the School)
Tuesday 9 July, 10 am – 11am, $10 (10-13 years), $5 per carer

Pop Up Artmaking in the Galleries: enjoy a fast and furious art lesson in the Paintings gallery.
Free, Tuesday 9 to Friday 12 July, 12 noon – 1 pm

Pop Up Shakespeare - Just Romeo and Juliet performed by Bell Shakespeare
Free, Thursday 11 July, 10 am – 11 am & 1 pm – 2 pm
 

Fashion Workshop: make your own outfit from recycled materials
Friday 12 July, 1pm – 3pm
$15 (8-14 years)
