Tennyson Spring School Holiday Workshops

Ceramic hand painting is a passion at Tennyson Studio, and they want to share it with you.

Trying to get your kids creative these Spring School Holidays? 

Tennyson Studio has a number of workshops from Handbuilding with Clay, Canvas Painting and Ceramic Pottery Painting. All one-day sessions, and all-inclusive materials and firings. 

 All of our school holiday art classes have limited places available, so booking is essential. 

Schedule for Clay Creation Workshops

Animal Pinch Pots - Monday 26 September 2022, 10.30am - 1.30pm $98

Make Your Own Coil Bowls - Tuesday 27 September - 4 October  2022, 10.30am - 1.30pm $98

Slab Animal Mugs - Wednesday 28 September - 5 October 2022, 10.30 - 1.30pm

Information

They will learn how to pinch, coil or slab with clay to create anything from a bowl or an animal mug or just your own creations from a lump of clay.

The kids will return on Friday of the same week they made their creations to paint with Ceramic Underglazes.

All your pieces will then be fired and glazed in a Clear glaze and remain white and glossy,

All pieces are to be collected from the studio four weeks after the completion of your workshop. 

This is a one-day workshop.

During these classes, we guide the kids through the steps to make their very own hand-built creations from scratch.

We will fire and glaze each piece, (if you can’t return to painting your creation, this is where the art class will end for you and we will fire and clear glaze your piece Pick-up is still 4 weeks after the workshop

We will be drying your pieces to harden before painting them. This is the art class where your kid’s piece will come to life. They can transform their clay creation with Underglaze ceramic paints.  When the clay has dried you will sand and decorate your creation.

Note: All Children must be 7 years or older. If younger then a parent must accompany their child to assist them.

Schedule for Acrylic Painting Workshops

Acrylic Painting Workshop on Canvas - Thursday 29 September and 6 October 2022, 2 - 5pm $60

Information

In this 3 hr workshop starting at 2 pm, kids will be guided through drawing and painting techniques to create a fantastic piece of art with acrylics on canvas, with our resident art teacher, draw in pencil,  then be taught how to use different brushes with acrylics and brushstrokes to recreate the art piece for the day.

Everything is included in this workshop for only $60

Ceramic Pottery Painting - Thursdays and Fridays - 29 and 30 September and 6 and 7 October 2022, 10.30 - 1.30pm

Information

This workshop is a 3-hour guided step-by-step session, for a dinner plate or a cereal bowl or even a mug or other pieces that are in the same price category, inclusive of Underglaze paints, 2 firings, and glazing.

We have many different pieces on our shelves from Plates, bowls, mugs, and many others to choose from in that same category.

If you wish to choose larger pieces in a different price category just pay us the difference on the day for them and their firings.

We also have many pieces to choose from for the younger kids (6 years and under), these are already had one firing so they don’t break as easily such as plates, cups, jewel boxes, and many more.  We have many templates for you to choose from, or bring your own ideas.

Please bring your own food and drinks, and all our tables are disinfected after every session.

Note: Adults are encouraged to stay if children are 6 years and under, and can join the kids at children’s prices. Special: Accompanying parents wanting to paint will pay children’s prices.
