If you're planning on hitting the road in search of Sydney's most magical streets with Christmas lights, you're in for a sparkling treat. From the twinkling boulevards of Bondi to the festive corners of the Hills District and beyond, we've rounded up the best addresses to see Sydney shine bright this season.

The Best Streets For Christmas Lights in Sydney 2024

When do Sydney's Christmas Lights Start?

Most streets with Christmas lights in Sydney flicker to life around the first weekend of December (Sunday 1 December 2024). From dusk each evening (weather permitting), these glowing displays light up the streets, particularly after dark. If your little ones can stay awake until about 8 pm, that's when the lights really come alive.

Hot tip: The closer it gets to Christmas, the busier the streets become, so plan ahead!

Should You Drive or Walk Around the Christmas Lights?

We're all about safety (and maximum festive enjoyment), so we recommend parking your car nearby and taking a leisurely stroll through the dazzling displays. Popular streets can get crowded—especially with excited kiddos darting about—so keep an eye on your little elves.

Do You Have to Pay to See the Lights?

No, you don't have to pay—Sydney's festive folks put on their dazzling displays out of the goodness of their hearts. However, many houses collect donations for local charities, so making a donation can spread even more Christmas cheer.

Where are the Best Christmas Lights in Sydney?

Bondi and North Bondi

Waratah Street: The lights will be on each night from 7.30-10.30 pm from 1-28 December 2024 with music, moving features, inflatables, and more. This gorgeous house is known for raising money for charity so don't forget to ask about donations. Please be advised that if there is heavy rain or storms, the lights may not be on. 

Avoca Street is set to sparkle again with loads of Christmas lights in 2024!

Maroubra 

Add Maroubra to your list and stop off at Hargraves Place.

Matraville

Knowles Avenue usually join in the festivities and should be flicking their lights on for the whole month of December.  

Randwick

The residents along Frederick Street have a tradition of decking their exteriors in spectacular displays - they're unconfirmed for 2024 but here's hoping they stick with their tradition!

For some of the biggest lights this year, stop by 1 Solent Circuit.

Kellyville

6 Gormon Avenue are confirmed for 2024 and will be on display from 7.30-10.30 pm from 22 November to Boxing Day.

Head to 2 Carlisle Crescent for their 2024 display! They'll flick the lights on from 7.30-11 pm from 1 December 2024 to 1 January 2025. 

Stop off at 4 Perseus Circuit from 1-29 December for moving inflatables, snow, window displays, lasers, statues, Christmas characters, and more. 

44 Mawarra Crescent are confirmed for 2024 and they've been hard at work for over a month decorating! This is their 20th year of putting up amazing displays featuring inflatable decorations. Once again, this generous family will be raiding money for the Leukemia Foundation.

17 Womboyne Avenue: Unconfirmed but usually a festive stop-off.

Castle Hill

12 Ashford Avenue: Confirmed for 2024 so drive by from 7-11.30 pm to check out their creative decorating skills. The family will be raising money for the Starlight Children's Foundation so don't forget to donate!

18 Ridgecrop Drive are also confirmed for another year of amazing decorations and lights from 7.30-10 pm.

136 Excelsior Avenue: Unconfirmed for 2024

Get ready for lasers, projections, a nativity scene, and more at Saint Pauls Avenue. 

Murrumba Place are joining in the spirit in 2024 with massive Christmas lights in Sydney. Add this spot to your list and drive by from 8.30-10.30 pm from 1-26 December. 

North Ryde

Another location confirmed for 2024, the festive folks on Nalong Street have been putting up lights for over 30 years!

Benaud Street: This beautiful family have been putting up incredible Christmas lights in Sydney for years (to honour a wonderful lady named Mona who sadly passed away from cancer). 

Chatsworth Road: Unconfirmed for 2024 - check back soon!

Winston Hills

Caledonian Avenue:

For more well-lit houses in Winston Hills, 14 Bundilla Avenue are confirmed for this year.

Guildford

51 Mountford Avenue have some massive lights and decorations up this year from 1 December 2024 to 8 January 2025.

There'll be some great displays to check out along Strickland Road.

Vulcan Street

8 O'Neill Street: Lights are usually on from 8.30 pm until 11.30 pm every night from around 1 December until the beginning of January. 

Blaxland

For Christmas lights in the Blue Mountains, Robertswood Ave is famous at this time of the year! Stop by and check out hundreds of trees, installations, trains, candy canes, and figurines, plus, the Mt Riverview Rural Fire Brigade sometimes makes an appearance - so festive!

The folks at 6 Billagal Place have been puttting up lights for well over a decade and will be at it again this year! From 1-24 December there'll be loads of twinkly action, plus snow, window displays, moving features, music, and more pizzazz to support Beyond Blue.

Jordan Springs

The display at Delany Cct included a very grumpy Grinch last year! 

The houses along Cabarita Way are confirmed for 2024 so stop by from 1-31 December. There will also be food trucks on most Saturday nights throughout December.

There are a few houses to check out along Sailor Street and Izaac Circuit.

53 Flagship Ridge are confirmed and will be supporting Lights For Kids from 1-31 December. 

Emu Plains

Head on over to Emerald Street in Emu Plains for magical Christmas displays.

Cranebrook

We're loving the collection of festive snowmen happening at 34 Waterfall Crescent in Cranebrook!

Glenmore Park

4 Troon Court are putting on a fantastic display with loads of lights, inflatables, and lasers. 

60 Kiber Drive

Tench Reserve had over 40,000 lights up last year as well as inflatables, lasers, roof displays, and more!

Schofields

18 Princes Road won the 2023 Blacktown City Christmas Lights Competition for their amazing display. Hopefully they'll be back for win number 2 in 2024!

Quakers Hill

The display at 11 Chaplin Crescent won third place in the 2023 Blacktown City Christmas Lights Competition.

Just wait until you see the lights at 9 Trezise Place!

2 Keon Place: This huge display boasts 5,000 lights synchronised to music, motifs, installations, and inflatables.

2024 Blacktown City Christmas Lights Champion of Champions: 7 Mallee Street have been crowned the Champion of Champions this year and rightly so!

Riverstone

The lights over at 4/79 Piccadilly Street were awarded the Best Townhouse Display for 2023 AND 2024!

4 Boydhart Street are also getting into the festive action.

The Ponds

There's usually plenty to look at at Ridgeline Drive with fairy lights, inflatables, lasers, and Christmas garden features lighting up from 7.30 pm most nights.

2024 Blacktown City Christmas Lights Overall Competition Winner: 15 Sofa Street have moving features, interactive displays, nativity scenes, inflatables, walk-in displays, window displays, lasers, and Christmas characters - need we say more?!

Hassall Grove

2024 Blacktown City Christmas Lights Overall Competition Winner: 62 Stockholm Avenue Hassall Grove I don't think we've seen this many lights on a single house before!
 

The festive folks at 20 Climus Street won second prize in the 2023 Blacktown City Christmas Lights Competition and it's not hard to see why!

39 Alice Street is pretty spectacular - so spectacular, in fact, there's a whole Facebook page dedicated to the famous Le Roux Christmas Lights! They're also raising money for the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation's Light Up Christmas Appeal.

76-78 Nuwarra Road: A Christmas village, letters to Santa, an eight-metre-high inflatable Santa, and plenty more are usually on display at this block of townhouses. 

Chipping Norton

12 & 14 Faversham Crescent: If you'd love to show your support for the children this year, visit the Chipping Norton Lights for the Children's Hospital at Westmead. Two houses will be lit up in festive flash to spread the Christmas spirit while also raising awareness and funds for a fantastic cause - donate today!

Blacktown

For some of the most mind-blowing Christmas displays in Sydney, head to 14 Indigo Way in Blacktown. This iconic house has been on display for over 10 years and they're always raising money for fantastic causes. Their lights are usually on display from 8 pm to 10 pm Sunday to Thursday and 8 pm to 11.30 pm Friday to Saturday. 

4 Irelands Road are confirmed for 2024: Check out inflatables, roof decorations, walk-in displays, and plenty more at this festive address.

31 Kieran Drive

2024 Blacktown City Christmas Lights Overall Competition Winner: Hull Place are putting on a mega show this year with Christmas lights from 7 pm until late, snow machines, bubble machines, walk-through displays and loads more! On now until January 2025.

Streets With Christmas Lights on the Northern Beaches

Davidson

Davidson gets absolutely lit around Christmastime and is one of the best spots to see incredible Christmas lights in Sydney in 2024.

10 Cambage Court: After a 4-year hiatus, the Cambage Court Christmas Lights return brighter than ever for a truly magical festive experience. With over 100,000 lights, stunning displays throughout the property, festive food, carols, and a visit from Santa, this dazzling celebration is a must-see for all ages. It's free, but you can reserve a spot.

You can also visit Borgnis Street in Davidson for some twinkly action, followed by Kambora Avenue. Plus, the local fire station is rumoured to be putting on a show again this year!

Beacon Hill

Beacon Avenue: We love the displays along Beacon Avenue, particularly at numbers 5, 9, 11,14, and 16.

2 Ingleside Road: One of the biggest Christmas light displays on the Nothern Beaches (including a walk-through light tunnel!) is at 2 Ingleside Road.

Elanora Heights

The good folk in Elanora Heights love a celebration, and houses are dotted with sparkly displays throughout Elanora Heights at Kalang Rd, Anana, Merridong Rd, Iluka Ave, Allington Cres, Woorarra Ave, and St Andrews Gate.

Narrabeen

In nearby Narrabeen, head to Malcolm Street for festive displays. 

Warriewood

For festive lights throughout Warriewood, Bella Vista Court and Warriewood Road are two to earmark.

Seaforth

Drive past Baranbali Avenue and Grandview Grove to get in the festive spirit on the Northern Beaches.

For award-winning lights, head to Walseley Crescent for something truly spectacular. Walseley Crescent has won the Camden Council's Best Christmas Lights for a Street for two years running. We can't wait to see what they do this year!

Oran Park

South Circuit: This must-visit street usually has around eight houses aglow with Christmas light displays. 

11 Debenham Street: This house usually raises much-needed funds for the Sydney Children's Hospital and Westmead Children's Hospital. Well worth a visit!

Punchbowl

There's a mega display over at 13 Waratah Street this year and the lights are usually on from 7 pm.

7 Carisbrook Avenue: The whole house is usually covered and in previous years there's even been a seven-metre Christmas tree made entirely of lights! Unconfirmed for 2024.

Roselands

Ok, this house is epic! 60 Payten Avenue usually puts on a mega three-storey display from 6 pm to 11 pm until the beginning of January. Not to be missed!

Also in Roselands, head to the Roselands Display at 124 Karne Street North to see over 150,000 lights for the Lights For Kids Foundation.

Belmore

34 Hugh Street, Belmore is nicknamed The Gingerbread House, so you know they're going all out with a huge display!

Milperra
