Australia's Next Big Thing Is A Giant Lollipop
For when the big prawn is smelling a little off, you need to add this to your road trip itinerary! Ravensthorpe in Western Australia is a small country town (around 530 kilometres southeast of Perth) with a big sweet tooth. On September 8 they unveiled a world-record breaking claim to fame in the shape of an almost 8m tall and 4m wide giant freestanding lollipop.
The Yummy-licious Candy Shack is a tourist attraction for the small town, many visiting it while on the Silo Art Trail or on their way to beautiful Esperence beach. The Big Lollipop was launched to mark the candy stores third anniversary.
Victory Could Have Tasted So Sweet
The owners applied for a Guinness World Record but were disqualified because the material of the lollipop was made of two materials — aluminium and steel — instead of one. D'oh!
