1. Bribie Island

The only island connected to Brisbane by bridge, Bribie Island has some tremendous camping grounds right on the sand. Try Poverty Creek, which is accessible by 4WD and boasts grassy sites and shady trees, and includes sites suitable for camper trailers and group camping.

2. South Stradbroke Island

On South Stradbroke Island, we love the South Currigee Campsites—nestled amidst lush native bushland, providing scenic water views of the stunning Broadwater. This campground boasts 28 spacious sites, each capable of accommodating 1-2 average-sized tents.

Enjoy convenient amenities such as toilets, hot showers, gas barbecues, and a children's play area. What more could you wish for? Note: access is available only by boat.

3. North Stradbroke Island

Load up the car, hop on a ferry and leave your troubles on the mainland, North Stradbroke Island is a slice of paradise only a 50-minute trip away on the ferry. There are a bunch of different beach camping options on North Stradbroke Island: you can set up shop right on the sand in a tent or swag, or you can ditch all the gear completely and stay in a fancy beach glamping site.
