These Tiny Cabins Will Get You Off The Grid And Immersed In Nature

The fast-paced, chaotic city life of Sydney is inspiring so many of us to enjoy the simple things in life when we get that rare chance to holiday without the kids. Who wants a jam-packed schedule of activities and sightseeing when you can truly switch off and do sweet nothing while immersed in nature? Sound good? This is the concept that the two brothers from Unyoked came up with when they designed their tiny cabin getaway business.

These cute, architecturally designed cabins are found in the Southern Highlands and can only be accessed via a 200-metre walk through a rainforest and dirt roads. As they explain on their website, they are "Far enough to disconnect, close enough to not spend all your time getting there."

While many of us enjoy the simplicity of camping in the wilderness, the reality is that it can be a pain to organise it all, pack it and set it up.

A night in one of the cabins, named Miguel, is $190 (minimum two-night stay) and you get your bedding, towels, picnic table, fire pit, a fan, gas stove, composting toilet, bar fridge and a hot shower powered by solar. Everything has been designed with sustainability in mind, as they say, "tiny house, tiny footprint."

Their second cabin, Heike, is coming soon and is said to be hidden on a lush 100-acre property bordering national park. This is for the less adventurous but still curious: "if you want to get off the grid without too much mud on your shoes," they say.

And, sorry to say it kids, but the cabins are for adults only! Perfect excuse for a romantic weekend away, we say!
